I wish I had time to read more: novels, books, blogs, etc. Sadly, I don’t.
From what I am able to read each week though, there is at least one thing I read that makes. me. stop.
At least one thing that makes me feel as if someone had hacked my brain to write it.
Hacked because I couldn’t agree more …
but not, because I could never have written something so powerful.
This week? It was a post by Kristen Howerton of Rage Against the Minivan.
Kristen is one of the most well spoken, hysterical, wise + intentional writers. When I met her a few years ago, I immediately was drawn to our mutual [might I call it obsession?] love for Broadway musicals.
Yesterday I found myself nodding as I read her thoughts, so thankful that she had written them.
She poses the challenge of what we should be asking ourselves, instead of the title of her post: why are so many celebrities adopting black babies?
“…what we as a nation can do for the thousands of waiting children who won’t be adopted by a couple dozen celebrities.” – Kristen Howerton

read her post in its entirety here.
+ then because it’s Saturday, and I loved this video when I saw it posted …. I think y’all should watch it too.

p.s. – this is one of those post where as I was reading I was nodding because, YES! exactly :)
isn’t she just an amazing writer? I’m so thankful and blessed by her words!
