Summer Friday || Week 5 | Link Up!

Hey y’all.

So.  Today might be the boringest of boring Summer Friday posts.

I don’t know what my problem is!  But I’ve been in such a funk since my kidney infection.

Blah.

I think my body is still recovering + I want it to happen faster.

And?

It’s hot.

Hot.

Hot.

I’m not complaining, I really am not.

It’s just hot.  Like hard-to-go-outside-because-opening-the-door-causes-me-to-sweat hot.

So.  I’m using this week as a kick in the rear to get my camera out + take more photos before this summer completely passes me by!

Also?

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA as far as posts go …. just having some writing drought.   I’ve been working on the my infant poops on the potty series and a few others, so I promise you’ll be seeing them soon. :o]

Too much text!  On to my lame-o photos!

Harlow has a new favorite book.  It is an awesome book from her favorite neighbor, Heather.  No really, best book.  We love it!  Harlow loves to point as I count the characters … she cheers each time we get to 3.

It’s… pretty awesome.

Then other times? She kisses each character, tree, frog, candy … or anything else she finds on the page.

I’ve been working on a rug for Harlow’s room and even though it hasn’t turned out exactly as I’d planned, I’m happy with it.  Choosing to not be a perfectionist: it’ll work :o]

Let’s play a little game of eye spy….the tail of something white + fluffy… can you see Wyler hiding?

I’m planning on dying it…but I need to come up with a color palette for Harlow’s room!

So…. my new go-to lunch?  A toasted English Muffin, Earth Balance butter, salt + pepper + avocado.

*swoon*
I need to write a post full of my mommy’s tips + tricks: she’s amazing.  She’ll say she learned them all from someone else, but bottom line is that I learned them from her!  She cut up a bunch of old towels when she was here for Harlow’s birthday celebration, so one afternoon while Harlow played in my sewing room …. I serged about half of them.  Yes, so many rags for cleaning!
*cue choirs singing the Hallelujah chorus*
Ahhhh… mid-week July 4th.
Anyone else reference tomorrow as Sunday about 60 times throughout the day?
Just me?
okay.
Well, we had a great evening with some friends + headed home to get the baby girl to bed before she went from giddy-zoning-baby to total-meltdown-baby.
We succeeded, and as she slept, we stepped out on our back deck to watch the fireworks.
Yes, our back deck.  No traffic.  No going anywhere.
It was awesome.
What did you do for the fourth?  + what are some of your go-to summer lunches?
I need helllp in that area.  Eeks.

Happy Friday! Link up!

Ahh, I love her kissing! My little Piper is in a kissing phase and it’s my favorite. Also, I’m uber jealous of your back deck fireworks viewing–we totally skipped this year bc I didn’t want to face the crowds and traffic. How fun to have it right outside!

For the fourth we stayed home for fireworks as well. We also were fortunate enough to be able to watch them from our back porch! Which I’m thrilled about because I have a six month old who’s bedtime is 8pm…

Oh, and a little praise report! I was so worried that the fireworks would keep him up… But the 4th of July was the first night he slept ALL NIGHT LONG! Praise God!

Love your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Hope you're feeling lots better, or that it's just from the heat. It drains all my energy! Love your rug. Is it braided? What's it made of? You'll have to show me how to do it. Am getting my sewing machine repaired and cleaned, etc. I really miss it! Give A and H hugs. Love, Me

My week’s been way too busy for pictures which is awful and sad. Next week I’ll try to be back! :)

Oh, and pasta salads. I love ‘em. Peppers, cucumbers, penne noodles, italian dressing, goat or feta cheese. Grill up some chicken and cut it up, place it in and you’re reached summer perfection!
