Summer Friday || Week 8 | Link Up!

So we lost power last night.

+ whenever I am in a situation without power, I’m amazed at how long it takes me to realize plugins + light switches don’t work.

Let me explain:

One time I lost power [it was during a crazy snow storm we had a few years back in March.]  I’m Norwegian + I am addicted to coffee.  Only problem? Coffee maker needs electricity.

Enter my Bialetti moka pot I have from when I studied in Italy. 

Being the genius [sarcasm, people.] I am, I realized that I could use our gas stove, if I started it with a match.

I’m so winning at this point.

Then I realized I didn’t have any ground coffee.  Whole bean was all I had, since our coffee maker has a burr grinder built in.  Yes, I am lazy.

At this point I am so not winning anymore.

But I remembered a small coffee grinder I had packed away in a cupboard.  It took me a while to find it.

I dusted it off.

Set it on the counter.

…. + I plugged it in.

Oh wait, then I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work.  Yup.  True story.

Annnnnd a pretty dumb story.

Moving on!

So anyway.  We lost power, + I was sort of bummed when it came back on.  I’m so behind on sleep, I knew that no power = forced early bed time!

That being said, get ready for a cute overload from a playdate we had this week with the stunning Miss Kyndal, Kaiser + Porter.  Harlow has a mega crush on both of them.  I mean, I heard you can love 2 guys at once, at least that’s what they say on the Bachelorette, right?  I kid. I kid. 

We’re still rocking the solid tw0-naps-a-day gig, so middle of the day is when we are out.  Bright sun calls for Harlow’s awesome ruffle hat from her Auntie Heather!

I still can’t believe she’ll be 14 months old tomorrow.  It’s going way. too. fast.

We had so much fun playing on the playground with those Braly boys!  + I always love time to chat with Kyndal!  You’ll be able to find this family in a dark room sobbing when next July comes along … not sure what we’ll do when the Bralys leave for hot-lanta!

Also? I’m so excited about next week!! We are getting on a jet plane to head to one of my most favorite-est places in the world.

I thought about doing guest posts from some of my favorites, and I will do that sometime soon, but I don’t want our time as a family to be forgotten – also? I know that this year’s speakers are going to be fantabulous: so I want to share what I’m learning with y’all!

The posts won’t be fancy.  + I’ll probably miss a day or two + have to catch up, but I can’t wait to share with you all a place that I call home, at least one week per summer for almost 23 years now.

Yup.  It is that amazing.
