IMG_7317IMG_7453 Sharing_Christmas_Chalkboard When Shannon first ask me to join in hosting this Sharing Christmas link up, my first thought was

I can’t do that! I don’t have anything to share!

Since moving into our new home this past March, slowly decorating would be an understatement.

I’m a bit picky, and I’m okay with white walls, empty frames, rug-less front doors and a little confusion until I get it figured out.
And figuring it out takes a while for me!

So slowly I’ve pulled together a few areas of Christmas decor that make me smile when I pass them.

We still don’t have a wreath on the front door.
My Christmas tree doesn’t have a tree skirt.
And after 3 1/2 years of marriage, we finally have stockings.

Will you come inside for a cup of coffee? or hot chocolate–or whatever you’d like? {don’t forget to link up with your festive home & decor! even if it’s a bowl of Christmas ornaments or a Charlie Brown tree!}IMG_7308

One of my favorite traditions from my childhood was receiving a new ornament each year.  My mom would pick them out and in her perfect handwriting write our name and the year. Now when I decorate our small tree, it is covered in these ornaments–each one capturing special memories as I hung them on the tree.

Andy and I continued this tradition, starting the year we were married: 2009.

Do you have any family traditions when it comes to specific ornaments? or how you decorate the tree? 2012-Ornaments IMG_7305This year I finally finished stockings! I had an idea of what I’d wanted to do, but just wasn’t finding the time to put them together!

I knew I wanted to make them–having supplies for new stockings in the years to come. Stockings Stockings-Detail Harlow and I got out some glitter and paint a few weeks ago when the weather was exceptionally warm, but I hadn’t found a way to display her masterpieces! {enter my inability to sleep} and these little wooden displays were born into existence.
More on them next week!

I’m absolutely floored by how they turned out, and I’m really excited to get these into your homes to display your children’s artwork!  Wooden-art Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek inside our humble home.  It’ll be fun to look back next year, when hopefully I’ve added a bit more.  Maybe a wreath on the door?  Candles in the windows? I can’t wait to see how your decorate for the holiday!

Merry Christmas! Don’t forget to check out the other hosts and all linking up:
