This evening I posted the above photo to instagram after whipping up a batch of new pouches for Harlow. I honestly thought I had been slow to find this , but realized so many of you didn’t know that you could make your own pouches with whatever ingredients you’d like. And well, you all need to know about it.
I found out about the from my sister–she’s due in July and asked if I’d heard about it. I searched and read reviews, thinking that it was probably too good to be true.
I held out for a few weeks, but when my happy toddler was refusing to eat just about anything besides yogurt, I caved.
And let me say I’ve made in a few months.
I have my happy, spunky toddler back–for the most part. I mean, she’s still a toddler, so we have our days.
I throw everything into my vitamix, blend and fill the –steaming things like broccoli first. We use everything from kale, cucumbers, broccoli, peas, carrots, apples, mango, banana, strawberries, yogurt, and orange juice. Harlow loves them, and I do too!
[Oh! And I purchased this pack of 50 new pouches!]
Okay. I just needed to share! Still trying to get healthy and average more than 3 hours of sleep each night–anyone else battling a nasty cough and sinus battle? I’m so ready for spring.
[I feel like I’ve heard myself say that before…]
xo.
Are the pouches reusable? I was thinking of purchasing these: http://www.amazon.com/Squooshi-Reusable-Food-Pouch-pack/dp/B00AWJHB5G/ref=sr_1_4?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1365036015&sr=1-4&keywords=baby+food+pouches
Hey Laura! They technically aren’t, but I’ve definitely been washing them with hot soapy water and reusing immediately a few times before throwing. I almost purchased the Squooshi’s – it’s what led me to these. I honestly couldn’t believe the price for only 4 pouches — and I just wondering how clean I could really get them to feel like I was getting my money’s worth. Harlow also sometimes chews on the end, and this way when I throw away a pouch that I only spent $.30 on…I don’t feel as bad.
But that’s just why I went this route!
xoxo!
I saw this on instagram and am so thrilled you posted more about it! I have some GoGo Squeeze left over from Blissdom and my son LOVES them. He’s great at drinking green smoothies I make him but it would be awesome to put them right in a pouch for him to eat. And much less messy! Thanks so much for sharing! I’ll definitely be making a purchase soon!
Let me know what you think of it — I hope you love it like I do!
OHMIGOSH I am so taking a big giant leap for this thingy! Wes isn’t able to feed himself with them yet without making a massive mess, but he totally knows the difference between the pouches and the cartons of food. I think they’ll be a lifesaver very very soon ;)
I know, right!? this thing is a life saver! see also: why didn’t I think of it!?
I’m so glad you posted on this because I’ve been wondering about this. We spend so much money on pouches because my son is also going through a picky stage. Pouches are the only way he eats veggies. Soooo, we just purchased one! Here’s to saving some moula!! Thanks!!
Yes! Let me know what you think of it, Shannon!!
That photo of her is so stinking cute! haha.
isn’t she a goof!??!
definitely going to check this out! even though cayden’s almost 4, he still loves the pouches when we buy them at target. having control over what goes in them though? is brilliant! thanks for sharing…
Love it!!! I just went on Amazon and got some!
Ingrid loved these type pouches and we’d always buy them at the store especially for when we traveled so that she would have something healthy to eat. It’s great to find a cheaper option!
I think Ingrid will still love these and they’ll be great to have for Lucy when she gets bigger.
Thanks for sharing, Kacia!
I am baffled – Behr would never eat anything from those pouches. I tried, and wished, and hoped, and tried and swore them off. Maybe I need to give them a second shot with Hudson. So curious now!
